One way DWSW expresses our support for advocacy efforts is by signing letters authored us or by other groups and organizations. These letters are sent to legislators or administrators to inform them about important topics and to encourage them to make decisions that support people with disabilities. National Partnership for Women & Families Letter to the Census Bureau to Include Disabled People in the Planning of Census Disability Questions Changes
March 21, 2024.This letter was sent to Robert Santos, the Director, U.S. Census Bureau to request a meaningful role in planning the convening of disability data stakeholders related to the disability questions in the American Community Survey. National Partnership for Women & Families Letter Opposing the Census Proposal to Make Changes to the Disability Questions in the American and Puerto Rico Community Surveys in 2025
December 19, 2023. This letter was sent to Sheleen Dumas in the Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, Commerce Department expressing serious concerns about the proposed changes to data collection on disability and questions related to the household roster for the American Community Survey (ACS) and Puerto Rico Community Survey (PRCS).
